Refunds:
You may request a refund if your child is injured or decides s/he doesn't want to play. ALL refund requests will include a $20 processing fee ($25 if more than one child in the same family is requesting a refund), we will deduct this fee from your refund.  In order to receive a refund, your child cannot have participated in any games. If the request is necessary due to an injury, after the child has already participated in one or more games, we will review the request and let you know if you will receive a partial refund.  Refunds can take several weeks to process and will be returned to the form of payment used when your player was registered.  Bank service fees WILL NOT be refunded.   The last day to request a refund is August 26th, 2023.

Ball: Each child should bring a SIZE 3 ball to the games.

Program Layout:  Players are assigned to teams for the season that include a volunteer coach.  The coach is supported by PASA professional staff and our Director, Kenny Atkinson.  Each team will have roughly 5-6 players and will play 3v3 on the field.  The program will operate with a brief technical warm-up that revolves around a particular skill.  After the technical warm-up, the team will play a game.  Volunteer coaches will help to keep the play flowing on each field while our staff coaches move from field to field to continue working with each team and coach as needed.  At the conclusion of every game we construct a tunnel for the kids to run through.  The breakdown is roughly 20 minute Technical Warm-up + 25 minute Game = 45 total minutes.

Game Format:  4 -  5 minute quarters with a 1 minute break between the quarters and a 3 minute half-time.
.

Player Equipment: All players must wear shin guards. A player without shin guards is not permitted to play. Non‐uniform clothing is allowed based on weather conditions, but must still distinguish teams. A good idea is to encourage your parents to layer the players clothing.  Soccer shoes are nice but not required. Tennis shoes are fine.  NO EARRINGS!

Players are not permitted to wear jewelry of any kind. It is NOT acceptable to use tape or band‐aids to cover recently pierced ears.  If a player chooses not to remove earrings or other jewelry, the player cannot participate in play. There are NO exceptions.

Hair restraints may not contain hard plastic or metal.

Referee: Coaches or parents may act as referees. All infringements shall be briefly explained to the offending player. Time will be kept by the coach.

Fouls and Misconduct: All fouls result in an indirect free kick. No cards are shown for misconduct.

Free Kicks: All free kicks are indirect. Opponents must be at least four (4) yards from the ball until it is in play.

Penalty Kick: There are no penalty kicks. An indirect free kick is awarded at the spot of the foul.

Throw in: The ball must be put into play with a kick‐in, not a throw‐in. This gets the ball in play quicker and allows for more touches on the ball during the match. Opponents must be at least four (4) yards away from the ball until it is in play.

Goal Kick: Goal kicks are taken from anywhere within the goal area. Opposing players must be in their own end of the field until the ball is in play. The ball is in play when it is kicked and moves.

Corner Kick: Opponents must remain at least four (4) yards from the ball until it is in play.

Goal Scoring: To score a goal, the kick must be taken from within the opponents’ end of the field.

If the kick is taken from the kicking teams own end, the goal does not count. The restart is a goal kick for the opponent

A goal cannot be scored directly from a kick off, goal kick, corner kick, kick‐in or a free kick from a foul.

Score: U4 does not keep score. The main objective is to let the kids have fun!

Other information:

Cancellations due to weather or field conditions are only made by PASA staff.

·     Kids may get dirty and muddy.  We play in rain and snow. Dress accordingly!

·     The key ideas the kids need to learn are to not use their hands and to pass the ball down the field so it may be kicked through the correct goal.

·     Don’t be surprised if the children want to stay by their parents at first instead of playing.  Encourage them to play!
